kindly invite you to participate
in the International Scientific Conference
„Balancing work and family life in the context of diagnosis and counseling”
organized under the honorary patronage of
JM Rektor UKSW prof. dr hab. Stanisław Dziekoński
on November 28-29, 2018
The issue of balancing work and family life is an area of interest to theoreticians, researchers and practitioners who deal with direct forms of family support. For a long time, the traditional division of roles ensured successful separation of work and family life, which were independently functioning structures. The observed process associated with taking on more and more diverse and complex roles by women and men, as well as the time devoted to their implementation, cause that the existing borders become more flexible. The disturbance or inability to balance work and family life results in negative consequences for both the employees and their relatives, as well as for the organizations in which individuals are professionally involved. This process is deepened by social, cultural, and economic transformations. It is worth noting that the current trend in the literature is underling the inevitability of avoiding the conflict between family and professional life. A family-work conflict is distinguished when the family situation impedes the successful performance of occupational tasks, and the work-family conflict occurs when professional obligations do not allow to successfully fulfill family duties.
The aim of the conference is to popularize the results of scientific research in the field of balancing work and family life, with a special emphasis placed on positive elements that form the mechanism needed for the reconciliation of multiple roles. The conference will provide a platform for discussing these issues among representatives of national and international research centers and individuals involved in supporting the successful implementation of these roles.
We invite educators, psychologists, sociologists, social workers and representatives of other disciplines who are interested in the conference themes. In the discussion, we will refer to the theory, empirical research findings, as well as to practice. The further intention of the conference is to develop theoretical and empirical activities that will be applied in practice.
